Stern Garners ‘Guardian of Small Business’ Designation for Strong Pro-Business Voting Record
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Leadership Council of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) this week named Rep. Jerry Stern (R-Blair) a “Guardian of Small Business” for his strong pro-business voting record during the 2011-12 legislative session.
“I am honored to have been selected to receive this award from an organization dedicated to supporting the growth and prosperity of our small business community,” said Stern. “Small businesses drive our local economy and produce thousands of jobs for our region. I have been and always will be an advocate for our small business men and women and look forward to witnessing the addition of more jobs sure to come from the many pro-business legislative measures we passed during this session.”
“Guardians of Small Business” designations are awarded to legislators who consistently vote favorably on key small-business issues. The votes tracked this session are among the highest priorities of NFIB’s small business agenda -- legal reform and regulatory relief, tax and fiscal policy, and unemployment and workers compensation reforms.
